Belgorod-Dnestrovsky fortress is very well preserved and worth a day trip. Belgorod-Dnestrovsky is located 86 kilometers Southwest of Odessa. It is a town of 50,000 people, located 20 kilometers from the Black Sea, on the right bank of the wide liman formed by the Dniester River. Belgorod-Dnestrovsky fortress covers an area of almost four hectares and the length of the wall is almost 2 kilometers, with thirty four towers. The fortress is made of shell rock. Magnificent Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater is once echoed with
concerts conducted by Peter Tchaikovsky and ballets featuring Anna Pavlova. The interior of this impressive structure, which ranks in grandeur with Milan's La Scala and Moscow's Bolshoi, is richly decorated in Louis XVI style. Exquisite inside decor in the style of Viennese baroque blended with elements of the Italian Renaissance and French rococo, sculptural groups taken from Greek mythology, the stucco moldings and guilt friezes combined with the red velvet of the seats and boxes — all this tends to create a special atmosphere.

Odessa`s churches and monasteries
There were about 70 churches before the revolution in Odessa. History of each church is indissolubly connected with the history of the city. For Soviet period lots of churches were closed, destroyed, reoriented in warehouses and fitness - centers and on many years ago, people in Odessa didn’t even imagined, that pious, orthodox citizens prayed about health for their relatives and about well-being and prosperity of whole city in these city’s buildings.

The catacombs
The Odessa Catacombs are an estimated 2,500 kilometres of labyrinths stretching out under the city and surrounding area of Odessa, Ukraine. The major part of the catacombs are the former stone mines where the building stones were obtained. Most of the city's 19th century houses were built of limestone mined nearby. Abandoned mines were later used and broadened by local smugglers. This created a gigantic complicated labyrinth of underground tunnels beneath Odessa, known as "catacombs". They are a now a great attraction for extreme tourists. Such tours, however, are not officially sanctioned and are dangerous because the layout of the catacombs has not been fully mapped and the tunnels themselves are unsafe. The tunnels are a primary reason why a subway system was never built in Odessa.

Odessa city tour on arrival
On arrival we will meet you at the airport, take you to your apartment and arrange a city tour around Odessa the most famous sights.
City Hall. Situated on the Primorskiy Boulevard the building, which houses the City Hall nowadays, is the place of the former old Stock Exchange in Odessa. Trading has always been the main source of Odessa budget income, so it is only natural that the Stock Exchange building occupied the foreground of the city and was further converted into the City Council and Major place. Deribasovskaya Street is named after Don Josef de Ribas. This street is the very heart of Odessa. What lends Deribasovskaya its unique character is magnificent architecture; crowds of people leisurely sitting on terraces of numerous cafes and restaurants, perfect cobblestones, no vehicle traffic and big shady linden trees. Beaches of Odessa. Odessa's beach, which actually is made up of several beaches running some 40 km or more, possesses a sea wall and small-scale eating and drinking establishments. During the summer, particularly the Lanzheron, Otrada, Delfin, Luzanovka, Fontan, Arkadia beaches are wall-to-wall people, but solitude seekers can find quiet by walking farther. Odessa Seaport. Convenient geographical situation on the historically founded merchant ways between East and West, closeness to Bosporus and Dardanelle’s, all - the - year - round navigation in the port - was always attracting attention of owners of goods in the world.
The Potemkin Stairs (named after the rebellious battleship Potyomkin) are a formal entrance into the city from the direction of the sea. The stairs leading from Prymorsky Boulevard down to the sea were constructed from 1837 through 1841 to the design of the architect F. Bofford. This imposing monument numbers 192 stairsarranged in ten flights and flanked by two-metre thick parapets. The difference in width between the highest (13.4 m) and the lowest (21.6 m) flights produces an optical illusion that enhances the grandeur of the structure.
